Triad holds a certification to ISO 9001:2008, which requires a quality management system consistent with the internationally recognized family of standards designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers.  The certification recognizes that the policies, practices and procedures in Triad’s Quality Management System ensure consistent quality in the design services and products we provide to our customers.

Triad views achievement of the ISO 9001:2008 certification as evidence of a commitment to customer satisfaction through continual improvement of our design processes, products and services.  Triad holds customer satisfaction as a top priority, so adherence to the ISO requirements is a natural extension of our approach to running our business.  We recognize the need to continually improve our core processes to better meet the needs of our customers.

As part of the commitment to meet customer needs, Triad can ensure conformance to industry-specific standards required to meet the expectations in all areas.   Specifically, for automotive customers Triad maintains a Quality Management System consistent with the requirements of ISO/TS16949, and for defense and aerospace, Triad can conform to AS9100.    The products we design are manufactured using carefully selected and rigorously qualified and approved subcontractors for wafer fabrication, assembly (into a mountable package), final electrical test, and tape/reel.  The manufacturing partners we approve hold the appropriate certifications for the market served, and are audited to ensure all requirements met.

Triad is ITAR Registered, and follows all applicable requirements, both internally and in working with our supply partners.

Supplier Selection, Approval and Management Process

Triad Quality and Operations work together to identify, select, and approve manufacturing partners that provide the best solution for our customers.  Several factors are considered in the supplier selection process, with the ultimate goal being capability to meet customer requirements and develop a long-term partnership to ensure continuity of supply.

Once a supplier is selected as a potential manufacturing partner, a rigorous evaluation occurs, including an on-site audit to Triad and industry requirements, and a demonstration of capabilities.  After approval, ongoing regular interactions occur to allow us to better service our customers.

Product Quality and Reliability

Triad Semiconductor is committed to providing best in class product quality to our customers.  We work closely with our customers to fully understand how the ASICs we design will be used. Risk assessments are performed at the beginning of an ASIC design project to identify areas in design, manufacturing or use that may require risk mitigation.  We then collaborate with our customers and manufacturing partners to define an appropriate product reliability qualification plan and production monitoring plan to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.  Triad has standard qualification levels that are recommended, depending on product application, technology utilized, and existing performance data.  We also work with customers to develop custom plans when needed.

After production release, we continue to work with our manufacturing partners in gathering process data and in conducting ongoing monitors designed to catch shifts in process performance that could impact the product we deliver.

RoHS / REACH

Triad Semiconductor standard ASIC products fully comply with the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC requirements without any exemption.

In some applications, customers may request tin-lead finish on packaged parts.  Triad maintains the capability, through our manufacturing partners, to meet these requests.

In addition, Triad is dedicated to serving our customers by providing information relevant to widely used or referenced environmental regulations, including REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, European Union Regulation (EC) 1907/2006).

The REACH Regulation establishes specific duties and obligations on companies in the European Union (EU) that manufacture or import substances on their own, in preparations, or in articles.  Triad Semiconductor meets all applicable REACH requirements.

  • Requirements for registration or pre-registration of products we supply do not apply.  Triad is a supplier of “articles” to our customers (as defined in REACH article 3(3)) that do not include the intentional release of substances in normal usage.
  • Triad products do not contain any of the substances currently included in the list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), at levels requiring notification (above 0.1% weight by weight, w/w).

We will continue to work with our manufacturing partners to ensure that we remain compliant with evolving REACH requirements, and will notify our customers of any changes in the status of our compliance.

ISO14001

Triad is committed to a responsible environmental approach in the manufacture of our ASICs.  To this end, we work with manufacturing partners holding certification to ISO14001, Environmental management systems – requirements with guidance for use.  Additional information is available upon request

Conflict Minerals

Triad is committed to the responsible sourcing of minerals by suppliers we partner with to manufacture our products. In compliance with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010), suppliers are informed of their obligations for responsible minerals sourcing and disclosure. Triad uses the EICC / GeSI (Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition / Global e-Sustainability Initiative) Conflict Minerals reporting template to collect and provide information related to the sourcing of conflict minerals, including smelters and country of origin.

Customer Requirements

Triad Semiconductor is committed to meeting the needs of our customers in the design, manufacture and supply of reliable and innovative ASIC technologies and products. This starts with understanding the needs of our customers and building flexible processes with robust revision control that allow us to document and verify all requirements before delivery. The design process includes several reviews along with routine interaction with customers to ensure expectations are clearly communicated and requirements are adequately documented. Verification that all requirements have been met, and that production documentation contains all customer requirements occurs at production release.

Customer Complaints

Triad’s goal for product quality is zero defects. We understand, however, that the possibility exists for nonconforming product to ship to our customers. Triad maintains processes for receiving complaints, performing analysis of failures, and taking action to address issues that occur at our customers. Triad works with customers to ensure resolution to complaints is clearly understood, adequately addresses the issue, and effectively prevents recurrence. Where corrective action is required, Triad follows an 8D approach, and has personnel well versed in root cause investigation techniques. In the event that product at the customer’s site needs to be returned, Triad will issue a Return Material Authorization (RMA) to the customer.

Change Notification

Triad follows industry standards in providing notification to customers of product and process changes, and in product discontinuance or obsolescence. In general, any change that affects form, fit, function or reliability of an ASIC will involve customer notification, with sufficient time for customer approval or response, as appropriate. Triad maintains the ability to incorporate customer-specified notification requirements where applicable.
