A detailed technical review of the ASIC development to establish that it can proceed to tapeout. The review will demonstrate that the ASIC design meets the performance and engineering requirements in the Implementation Specification that was developed at project kickoff. The review typically includes items such as post-layout simulations (which include the extraction of parasitics), timing analysis, design rule checks, and risk assessments. The CDR is typically the final review in the ASIC design process prior to tapeout.
