Western Area Field Applications Engineer (FAE)
Triad Semiconductor is searching for a Western Area Field Applications Engineer (FAE). The position will report to the Director of Applications Engineering.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- FAE will provide comprehensive technical support for prospective customers including presentations on mixed signal ASIC technology, fab technology, packaging options and test methodology.
- Analyze ASIC RFQs and generate initial die size estimates, IP and package selection.
- Travel to customer sites as needed for technical support of Triad Semi products and services.
- Prepare application notes and technical articles for electronics industry publications; edit press releases.
- Analyze customer requirements to identify industry trends and provide input to management. Assist management in development of product definitions, roadmaps, and field sales training.
- Be alert to competitive products and their marketing campaigns and keep management informed of them.
Requirements:
- Mixed signal ASIC product knowledge.
- Mixed signal ASIC design methodology and design tools experience.
- Good interpersonal skills to work with customers, both external and internal. Technical writing skills, ability to compile and present data to customers, management, and salespeople. Analytical skills to accurately translate customers' needs into products and industry trends.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Experience:
- Minimum 10-years mixed signal ASIC design or applications experience.
- Experience in the following highly desirable: FPGA to ASIC conversion, motor control, medical devices, sensor processing, low-power portable devices, USB, ADC/DAC, PLL, I/O standards, High-Voltage applications.
- Experience using Mentor and Cadence tools a plus.
- BSEE required, MSEE preferred
